Earth Milk Moon’s Community Postpartum Course for Nurses is a 20-week long journey geared towards both building community and creating a foundation for you to learn how to hold space to help facilitate healing during the postpartum time.
This is a live, online course designed for nurses and healthcare providers who feel called to utilize their knowledge and healing hearts to support families in the postpartum time.
We will focus on importance of holding space for postpartum families (and ourselves), and will cover foundational postpartum topics that we didn’t learn in nursing school, but should have!
While our culture’s paradigm of caregiving is one of depleting ourselves to fill up another, this course is designed out of the belief that a more reciprocal and healing path forward is not only possible, but is necessary for our collective evolution.
There are more nourishing ways to use our knowledge and healing hearts.
You most certainly can be energized by supporting others.
You most certainly can have community who understand you.
Your work can most certainly feel reciprocal and healthy.
You can create what you want your work to feel like.
Are you looking to help facilitate change in the hospital?
Or maybe you are looking to transition out of hospital/systemic nursing work?
This course will focus on learning (and unlearning) in order to help families transition into parenthood, and help nurses transition into a more nourishing caregiving role.
It’s time to make a collective shift to change our cultural approach to the fourth trimester while honoring ourselves as caregivers.
This course will cover:
The Journey Through Matrescence
The Nervous System and supporting the mother-baby dyad
Why birth matters when it comes to the postpartum and lactation experience
A Holistic approach to Lactation Support
Breast Health, Anatomy and Lactation Hormones
Overlooked lactation challenges in infant feeding
Infant sleep and supporting their physiologic design
Pelvic Floor Health and Healing
Nourishment for Postpartum and Lactation
Herbs, adaptogens and healing foods
Seasonal Wellness and connecting to our inner and outer seasons
This course will meet 4 times per month and will feature guest speakers and a monthly Q&A.
A huge benefit of taking the course is having the opportunity for continued mentorship and supportive connection to other doulas, nurses and community postpartum providers.
If you are a nurse interested in exploring new ways of using your nursing and healing skills, and in promoting generational, community healing through centering mothers and families during the Postpartum Period, this course will be a great fit for you.

Earth Milk Moon began as an effort to bridge the gap in care present in the current US healthcare system and help provide access to holistic, supportive postpartum care.
Krista Tarantino, RN, IBCLC, worked in 3 different hospitals in California over 10 years. She connected to some of the most amazing nurse healers and patients but started feeling depleted by the way we treat women, birth, babies and the postpartum journey in this culture. There is a better way, a more intuitive, innate way we should be supporting a person healing from birth. She left her job in the hospital to start Earth Milk Moon, prioritizing mothering the mother and centering families so they can move through their parenting journey feeling empowered and connected to themselves and their children.
Krista is certified as an Innate Postpartum Care Provider, and draws on the perspective of traditional postpartum care, evidence based research, as well as her experience in the traditional hospital systems and working in homes to create a practice that centers, empowers, educates, and supports the mother-baby dyad.
