Earth Milk Moon is excited to announce the launch of the Solar Road Foundation!
This project has been in the works for quite a while, and is part of our effort to make postpartum wellness care and support more accessible to all families, creating the opportunity for mothers, children, and entire families to thrive during the postpartum time.

Throughout the postpartum period, there are essential elements that are required for a person to fully heal after birth. First and foremost, these include the basic needs of rest, nourishment, warmth, safety and community.

Today, the United States is experiencing an epidemic of postpartum depression and anxiety, and research shows that this correlates with a lack of support during the postpartum period, and these basic needs not being met.

The Solar Road Foundation is our response to this epidemic and to the blatant gap in postpartum care.

The postpartum time is one of the most tender, vulnerable times in a family’s life and we believe that everyone deserves to have the opportunity to thrive during the postpartum period, and as it stands in the US, there is no model for what this might look like.

Children’s health is contingent upon mothers' health, and in order to create a world in which children and families can thrive, we must first focus on the health and wellbeing of our mothers.

The Solar Road Foundation is a nonprofit that will provide scholarships and funding for families and mothers, helping provide access to in-home and virtual postpartum wellness care that will include: postpartum doula support, lactation support, nutritional support, postpartum education and postpartum community support groups.
